Josiah Thomas MeldrumOver the last decade Josiah has worked across the food supply chain, always within the ethical/organic sector. In that time he has managed retail outlets, established direct marketing ventures, developed community engagement strategies for an organic produce wholesaler and helped to set up a trans-national producer owned advocacy network. His first class degree in International Development and Natural Resource Management from the University of East Anglia and post-graduate work at the University of Cambridge provide a global context for local and regional work on food system sustainability.

Josiah is a director of East Anglia Food Link a not-for-profit organisation committed to researching and demonstrating more sustainable food systems, and of ECCE-Bio a pan-European organic producer network that works to promote the interests of smaller scale farmers and growers. In addition he is vice-chair of the new Waveney RDPE Leader project and sits on local and national funding panels that focus on food.

Born in London but raised in Suffolk, Josiah now lives in Bungay with his partner and two children. Actively involved in community life he is a member of Bungay Community Partnership steering committee and initiator of Sustainable Bungay, a Transition Town group. In his spare time Josiah enjoys photography, back garden vegetable growing and landscape history.
