William comes from a farming background, and spent much of his own farming career growing strawberries, other fruit and vegetables on a commercial scale for supermarkets.
William is also a thinker and commentator on food sustainability issues. He is a member of the London Food Board (created by the Mayor to develop and deliver food policy in London); is a key member of the Society of Chemical Industries’ Horticulture Group; and speaks frequently on local and national radio.
